Units built for the beach
Seaside works in surf-season swings: a summer of beach cookouts, volleyball tournaments, and lifeguard support, then a quiet salt-blown winter. A standard unit handles a block party or a small contractor crew rebuilding a bungalow, and the deluxe flushing model with a hand-rinse sink is the one people want for a boardwalk fundraiser or a beach wedding.
The ADA accessible restroom matters more than usual out here, because a firm, level unit near the boardwalk ramp gives beachgoers who cannot cross soft sand a place that actually works. A handwashing station beside a food tent rounds out any beach event.
Setting a unit on sand and boardwalk
Sand is the whole challenge in Seaside. A porta potty needs a firm base or it settles and leans, so we set units on the boardwalk apron, a paved beach-access path, or plywood laid over the sand rather than dropping straight onto a soft dune line. Tell us the block and the nearest street end and we plan the set before the truck rolls.
For anything near the ocean, we point the door away from the prevailing wind and keep the unit anchored, because an unweighted box out on an open stretch of beach in a stiff, steady sea breeze is asking to tip over.
The seasonal calendar out here
Peak is Memorial Day through Labor Day, when beach events, concessions, and rebuild crews all want units at once, so the earlier in the week you lock a summer Saturday the better. Off-season we still cover storm cleanup and year-round bungalow renovations, running units through the cold and the occasional nor'easter that pushes water up onto the low blocks.
