The right unit for a North Shore lot
Plandome runs to larger homes and deep, wooded lots, so most orders are single-unit and about discretion. For a renovation or a driveway project, one deluxe flushing unit set well off the road and screened by the trees does the job. For a garden wedding, an anniversary, or a graduation on the lawn, the climate-controlled restroom trailer with flushing sinks is the piece guests remember, and an ADA accessible unit rounds it out.
Landscaping and pool crews working the estate grounds usually keep a standard unit and a handwashing station on site for the run of the work.
Placement, gates, and the bay
The big lots here give us room to place well back from the street, but many sit behind gates or hedges, so we confirm the opening width and pick a firm, level spot the servicing truck can still reach. On the waterfront parcels along Manhasset Bay we set back from the bulkhead onto solid ground. Where a drop touches the public right-of-way, village sign-off may apply, so check with the town before the date.
Seasons on the water
Plandome gets four real seasons, from humid summers on the bay to cold, snowy winters. We add freeze protection in the cold and keep units serviced through snow, and on open or waterfront lots we stake and weight them against wind. Spring and fall bring the garden events and outdoor projects, and summer the weddings and parties, so we hold popular dates early when the calendar allows. For an estate weekend we can bring in a second unit and the trailer together and pull them the morning after, so the lawns are back to themselves by Monday.
